Heaven’s Door
Last night I was sleeping
I had the sweetest dream
I stood in a meadow
Went walking in a stream
The giggle of a child
Echoed all around me
I watched in endless wonder
The discoveries he found
Chorus:
And I must have been peakin
Through heaven’s door
Must of seen a small glimpse
From before
When I heard His words
“You must see no more
When it’s time I’m waiting
Where you peaked through
Heaven’s door”
An old woman watched him
She looked at me and smiled
Her eyes were a clear blue
Her hands were soft and mild
And when I saw her face
I finally realized
My grandma lives in paradise
And she still testifies
Chorus:
And I must have been peakin
Through heaven’s door
Must of seen a small glimpse
From before
When I heard His words
“You must see no more
When it’s time I’m waiting
Where you peaked through
Heaven’s door”
Didn’t want this dream to end
I tried my best to stay
And that’s when I saw him
Standing in this place
Suddenly our eyes met
And instantly I knew
This was not a stranger
He knew me
Through and through
Chorus:
And I must have been peakin
Through heaven’s door
Must of seen a small glimpse
From before
When I heard His words
“You must see no more
When it’s time I’m waiting
Where you peaked through
Heaven’s door”
